Swallows and Amazons First Australian edition 1949
These editions were printed in Britain and bound in Sydney. They were identical to the standard Cape editions except for:
"Sydney; Australasian Publishing Company in Association with Jonathan Cape" on title page. The normal "Jonathan Cape" at the bottom of the wrapper spine was replaced by a Cape logo. The cloth was a lighter green than the Cape edition and did not have the name embossed on the front.
The original dedication to "The six for whom it was written in exchange for a pair of slippers" remains. Full details of the first edition here.
